Update May 2:
About the same routine as yesterday.  Hatchlings are more active, and they're having a difficult time fitting underneath the parents.  They try to burrow under, and tend to push each other out.  But they're still not left uncovered very often.

Update 5/3: Well, it's not looking good for one of the babies.  I watched the feeding this morning, and one of them is clearly smaller and scrawnier than the other two.  He didn't get any food, despite struggling valiantly.

The morning feeding was the last movement I saw by the littlest bird.  This afternoon, for the first time, the father left the nest for a half hour.  While the father was away, the other two flopped around, but the third one didn't budge.

He's still in the nest, in that same spot, the mother is still sitting atop him along with the others.  The guy at the pet store told me he's just resting.

Sweet dreams little fella.

Update 5/4: The mother notices that the little one is taking an unusually long nap.

I don't like to do flash pictures of the nest, but I've tried a couple.  Here's one showing the two surviving birds; the third one is still visible at the bottom right.
