I’m located in Providence, RI, give or take.
I maintain a small studio in Pawtucket, convenient to I-95.
I am well-equipped for location shooting within driving radius.

I took photographs for nearly 30 years before I ever got serious about using light and exposure as photographic tools…. everything was done through composition. In 2006, I simply got bored with it. I felt like the camera was taking the pictures, not me. So I sold most of my cameras and lenses.
I did, however, run into some old friends who did stereoscopic 3D photography, which I had dabbled in during the 1980′s. Since there are no decent digital stereo cameras, I bought an old Stereo Realist and started shooting transparencies, and for the best look, you shoot with ISO 100 slide film. Which means you need a lot of light. Hence the quest to finally learn how to properly use flash.
To say the least, it was a revelation. It turns out that lighting isn’t nearly as difficult and mystical as it seems. No longer was I limited to composition as a tool, exposure was now something I could exploit instead of simply hoping a photo would “come out”.
So I’m re-energized, exploring new photographic trails, not always sure where they will lead, but no longer bored. Only problem was that I had to buy back all those lenses I sold. Ouch. Never sell your lenses.
